The Post-Dinner Munchies

Mum: "If you girls are still hungry I have left-over sweet potato"

Yeehaw!

Just wanted to share some photos from our first Rodeo experience (yes, it was back in May, but who's keeping track?).
We went with our dear friend Becky, who is a minor celeb in the Redding Rodeo scene, and she got us free front row seats for all the swash-buckling action. The girls had a wow of time (not sure if it was the carnival food or the horses, but they were excited from start to finish). The highlight was definitely the 'trick riders' - all girls who managed to make flipping over horses & standing up on them while tearing around the stadium look super easy, and grinning like Chesire cats the whole time to boot!
It was a true redneck experience, but tonnes of fun. We'll be there next year Becky - with spurs on!

My Mother's Day presents...

Love it!
Apparently their original choices were Macaroni & Cheese and Cotton Candy, and Joe tells me it took a LOT of convincing and presenting of other options to get them to change their minds!

Trippin'

So a couple of weeks ago we were able to take a mini-vacay and decided to explore some of the towns north of the Bay Area. The girls were excited, as this meant 'special rooms' (hotels) and a promised trip to the Jelly Belly Factory.
It was pretty fun and the girls loved the bag of goodies at the end of the tour best of all! You can't take photos inside the factory (can't let that recipe for Buttered Popcorn or Skunk flavor slip I guess!), so these shots will have to do. Crazy how many beans they make every day and you almost can't take it in when you see it. Joe especially liked the Ronald Reagan connection - I guess they invented the blueberry flavor just so he could have red, white & blue beans on his desk!
P.S The hats were mandatory.

If you're ever in that part of CA, be sure to also visit the towns of Pleasanton & Fairfield - super cute & quaint with amazing scenery. No pics of that, but take our word for it!
